Armored cable and shielded cable are two types of cables that are used in large quantities, what is the difference between armored cable and shielded cable?
Armored cable
Armored cable is a layer of steel tape or steel wire that can be bent inside the outer sheath of the cable. Armor is divided into steel belt armor, fine steel wire armor, coarse steel wire armor, non-magnetic stainless steel belt armor and so on.

Shielded Cable
Shielded cable refers to a cable that can shield electromagnetic interference and other protective and transmission functions, usually represented by the letter "P".

1. Different Roles
The main role of armored cable is to withstand the pressure of the cable in the process of laying. And the role of shielded cable is to resist the interference of external electromagnetic fields! The two play different roles and can not be interchangeable.
2.Different Classification
Armored cable is used for direct burial cable, belongs to the power cable. Shielded cable is a control cable, not power cable.
3.Different Bending Radius
Cable allows a small bending radius: metal tape wrapped shield or steel wire, steel tape armored cable is not less than 12 times the outer diameter of the cable, non-armored flexible cable or braided shielded cable is not less than 6 times the outer diameter of the cable.
4.The Scope of Application is Different
The armored cable is mostly used in the environment which is very easy to be damaged by strong mechanical external force and corrosive gas around, especially in the territory with many mountains and rocks.
Shielded cable is mainly used for control and weak power system to prevent the outside electromagnetic interference from affecting the normal work of control system and weak power system.
5.Different grounding methods
The bottom core of shielded cable must be well grounded.
